Scotland has a wonderful selection of accommodation with fabulous B&Bs, Guest Houses and Hotels. For B&Bs we use 3 – 5 star and Hotels 3 – 5 star. You can choose to stay in Castles, Country Houses, Lodges, Victorian Houses and small local hotels where you will feel comfortable and relaxed after a day of sightseeing. We also take in to consideration the location of the properties, whether it is proximity to a city or town centre or quiet location or scenic views. Scotland is a wonderful touring country and finding the right accommodation for you is an integral part of the success of your tour. The accommodation we feature offer delicious freshly cooked breakfasts whether you want a light continental style or a full Scottish. Also on offer are local delicacies such as kippers, black pudding and smoked salmon.
What to bring – Based on the months April – October it is best to layer up! So make sure you have a warm pullover / jumper / fleece, and a good waterproof jacket for your outer layers. Bring a hat as this will also protect you from the sun which can be strong in the Highlands. Good walking / durable light hiking / trainer style shoes. It is worth remembering that Scotland can get hot in the summer, hence the layers. I have umbrellas in case it rains!
We can recommend and book restaurants and gastro pubs. We can book tickets for ferries and trains as well as events, theatre and concerts. We can offer advice on and book outdoor activities across Scotland.
When visiting Scotland’s historic sites we recommend the Historic Scotland Explorer Pass http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/explorer. There are many benefits here including no queuing at Edinburgh & Stirling Castles as well as saving money.
