Exploring Scotland

7 Day Private Tour of Scotland.

Day 1 – We depart Edinburgh / Glasgow or your preferred departure point and travel into the Cairngorms national park via Perthshire. On route we visit Dunkeld, Killiekrankie and Blair Castle, three gems of Perthshire. We then travel into the Rothiemurchus Estate for a walk around beautiful Loch an Eilean. We continue to Grantown on Spey for two nights.

Day 2 – We will visit Ballindalloch Castle and then visit the spectacular ruin of Huntly Castle. After lunch in a local restaurant, you will enjoy a tour and tasting at the Macallan Whisky Distillery.

Overnight – Grantown on Spey

Day 3 – We will travel to the Western Highlands of Scotland via Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness and wild and beautiful Glen Shiel. We can arrange for you to have a private lunch with a local chef on this day.

Overnight – Plockton

Day 4 – We will travel onto the Isle of Skye to visit the islands capital, Portree. We will stop by the Cuillin Mountains and visit the less tourist but fascinating area of south Skye, including the crofting village of Tarskavaig. We will enjoy the scenic area of Isle Oronsay also in the south of Skye.

Overnight – Plockton

Day 5 – We will travel over the Glengarry pass into the Great Glen. We will visit the 13th Century Inverlochy Castle to look at its fascinating history. Our lunch stop and afternoon walk is in the stunning Glencoe area, one of the most famous and beautiful sights in all of Scotland. We will continue in Argyll, the coastland of the Gael, and arrive in the delightful harbour town of Oban.

Overnight – Oban

Day 6 – We will take the morning ferry to the Isle of Mull. We will explore the quiet west side of the Island including the isle of Lunga. We will continue past Loch Tuath where we may see Sea Eagles soaring overhead and make a stop at the sweeping Calgary Bay. Lunch is in the fabulous Art Café. We will then arrive in the colourful harbour town of Tobermory where you can spend some time perusing the local shops and crafts. Ferry back to Oban.

Overnight – Oban

Day 7 – We will travel back to central Scotland via Loch Awe and then make a stop in the Georgian Town of Inveraray, home of clan Campbell. You can enjoy a lovely seafood lunch at the locals favourite, the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. Our afternoon visit will be on the shores of beautiful Loch Lomond, the largest loch in Scotland. We will make one last stop at Stirling Castle before we drop you at your accommodation / departure point.
