Edinburgh, The Highlands, Skye and the Argyll coast - A Scottish journey
Day 1 – Edinburgh - A European Gem
Explore the historic city of Edinburgh. Visit the Medieval Old Town including The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, St Giles Cathedral, The Palace of Holyrood House, the Scottish Parliament, the Grassmarket and Greyfriars Kirk. We also wander the many authentic closes and courtyards which are a fascinating feature of Edinburgh’s Old Town. We visit the elegant 18th century Georgian New Town and wind our way to the north side of the city to visit Edinburgh’s old port – Leith.

Day 2 – Stirling Castle, Perthshire and The Cairngorms National Park
Travelling in a north west direction we visit the beautiful and historic Stirling Castle. We then travel into Highland Perthshire visiting quaint villages and countryside where beautiful rivers flow. After lunch in one of our favourite places, we continue with a visit to Blair Castle, ancestral home of the Clan Murray. Our afternoon drive takes us in to The Cairngorm National Park for your two-night stay. We love the touch of Luxury at The Spey, a 4-star Guest House with a Gold Green Tourism Award. Day 3 – Cairngorm beauty and Whisky
Today we visit sights within the national park including one of our favourite lochs – Loch an Eilean. We travel the back roads of the park and visit a stunning castle with a most fascinating history – it is one of our favourites and of the finest in Scotland! We also visit and tour a whisky distillery.

Day 4 – Jacobites, Western Highlands & The Isle of Skye
A day of history and epic beauty as we travel from the Central Highlands to the Western Highlands. We visit the Culloden Battlefield before moving in to the wild landscape of Wester Ross. After lunch in a stunning highland village we travel to the Isle of Skye for two nights.

Day 5 – Discovering the Isle of Skye
Touring the Isle of Skye. We visit a mixture of must-see sights and hidden gems on this beautiful and dramatic island. We have many recommendations for the best local food on the Isle of Skye.

Day 6 – Western Highlands, Glencoe and the harbour town of Oban
We travel through the coastal Western Highlands by the Sea of The Hebrides and on to dramatic Glencoe, one of the most atmospheric glens in Scotland. After lunch we travel into Argyll and the coastal town of Oban for a two night stay, right on the harbour.

Day 7 – Tour to the Isle of Iona & Staffa
Today we will visit the Isle of Iona, a peaceful gem off the Isle of Mull. Iona is an historic and sacred isle. There is also the opportunity to visit the geological island gem of Staffa.

Day 8 – Inveraray, and Loch Lomond National Park
Touring back to Edinburgh or Glasgow we travel through the wonderful Argyll scenery of lochs and mountains visiting castles and pretty Lochside towns. We stop on the banks of Loch Lomond for a wonderful photo stop.
