Wild Atlantic Coast of Scotland & Ireland.

A journey of stunning beauty on this 14-day tour of the wild coastal lands of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

On this tour of epic land and seascapes, we will visit amazing historic and cultural gems of three Celtic countries.

Wildlife we may see on the way – Bottlenose and Common Dolphins, White Tailed Sea Eagles, Grey and Common Seals, Minky and Humpback Whales, Buzzards, Red Kites, Seabirds such as Gannets, Fulmars and Puffins, Otters, Red and Roe Deer to name a few. Orca Whales can be spotted off the Irish Coast. Highland Cows and sheep aplenty also!

Starting in Scotland.

Day 1 – Departing from Edinburgh / Glasgow or your preferred pick-up point, we will travel north through beautiful Perthshire where we will visit Blair Atholl and Blair Castle. We will continue into the Scottish Highlands where we will visit Culloden Battlefield and then journey into the Western Highlands for an overnight stay in Wester Ross on the North Coast 500.

Day 2 – Travelling on the North Coast 500 and stunning West Highland scenery of mountains and Lochs we will take the ferry to the Isle of Skye. We will explore the hidden gems of Skye including some of the island’s cultural places.

Day 3 – We will tour the Isle of Skye including some of the islands stunning sights such as The Trotternish Peninsula, West Skye, Dunvegan Castle and The Talisker Whisky Distillery. Lunch is in a wonderful local pub.

Day 4 – Leaving the Isle of Skye, we travel the scenic route of the West Highland line to Fort William. We visit spectacular Glencoe and hug the coastline of beautiful Loch Linnhe into Argyll to the harbour town of Oban.

Day 5 – Travelling into ancient Argyll, we will visit some amazing stone circles and ancient forts. We will step of the beaten track and visit Seil Island and Easdale for some fascinating local history. We will also visit the beautiful area around Crinan including the Crinan Canal. Late afternoon will be spent in Oban for some harbour and shopping time.

Day 6 – Travelling through scenic Scotland into the pretty town of Inveraray, home of Clan Campbell, we stop for a wander of this 18th Century Georgian town. Next stop is the famous Loch Lomond before we move into the Southwest region of South Ayrshire – home of our national poet, Rabbie Burns.

Day 7 – We tour on the fabulous South West 300 visiting some of Scotland’s best unknown gems such as, Wigtown, Whithorn and Abbey and the Ayrshire coastal route to Culzean Castle.

Day 8 – We board to the ferry for Northern Ireland. We arrive in Belfast where you will enjoy a city tour visiting the Cathedral quarter which is centred around St Anne’s Cathedral. You will also have time to explore the Titanic exhibition and visitor centre.

Day 9 – We travel to the stunning Glens of Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland. This beautiful coastal route takes us through villages where we will enjoy stunning views over land and sea. We will continue to the Causeway coast for an afternoon visit to the Giants Causeway.

Day 10 – We travel into Ireland to explore County Donegal. We will visit the amazing 3500-year-old hillfort sitting 800ft above sea level for outstanding views over the north of Ireland. Lunch is in Donegal Town before we move into county Sligo via Mullaghmore and iconic Benbulben, one of Ireland’s most beautiful mountains. We will stop at Drumcliffe to visit the resting place of the great poet, W.B. Yeats.

Day 11 – We tour west through the Irish countryside into County Mayo to beautiful Clew Bay and its 365 islands, one for every day of the year! You can enjoy a boat trip around the bay, one of the best ways to experience Clew Bay. After this we will enjoy some time in the lively town of Westport. Arrive back in Sligo where you can wander the town have a nice dinner and enjoy some traditional Irish music in one of the local pubs.

Day 12 – We travel south into County Leitrim and the thriving county town of Carrick on Shannon. This is a local gem, and the town centre is a fine place to wander to see the interesting historical buildings including the unique Costello Chapel. After lunch we travel to the amazing cultural centre of the city of Galway. There is much to see in this fine place, and you will have time to explore the old centre with its charming colourful streets of character.

Day 13 – We start early today and journey into Connemara, one of the most gorgeous corners of Ireland. We will take a coastal route out and come back to Galway after lunch in the beautiful town of Clifden. This is another day of stunning beauty on the Wild Atlantic Coast. In the evening you can enjoy a pub crawl through Galway, enjoying Irish hospitality and local traditional music.

Day 14 – Our visit today is to the wild and beautiful Aran islands and the famous Cliffs of Mhor, an absolute must on any coastal tour of Ireland. We will visit the Isle Innishmore and Dun Aengus on the Aran Islands. Afterwards you can enjoy spectacular views of the ocean and islands from the dramatic Cliffs of Mhor.

Overnight in the welcoming and colourful village of Doolin, on Irelands Wild Atlantic Way. Watch the sun go down over the Atlantic Ocean as we enjoy our final night of the tour with dinner.

Day 15 – We will transfer you to the airport or drop off point.

Price: to include – Meet and greet, 14 full days of touring with your own private driver – guide in a luxury spacious vehicle (Mercedes or VW), welcome dinner on the first night, ferries (inc Scotland to Northern Ireland), dinner on the last night and transfer to your departure point.
